SomaticVoiceworks™ - The Lovetri Method Certification Training
On July 11-20, I attended nine days of intensive training at the Shenandoah Conservatory's Contemporary Commercial Music Vocal Pedagogy Institute 2014. The training included: masterclasses with Andy Einhorn, music director for the Broadway production of 'Bullets Over Broadway'; Dr. Chandra M. Ivey, a laryngologist specializing in treating voice professionals; Dr. Wendy LeBorgne, a voice pathologist and singing voice specialist; Matthew Edwards, assistant professor of voice at Shenandoah Conservatory specializing in Pop, Rock, Country, and R&B; Dr. Barbara Caprilli, who shared her dissertation on "The Effect of Menopause on the Elite Singing Voice: Singing through the Storm."; and Jeannette LoVetri, artist-in-residence and the creator of Somatic Voiceworks™ The LoVetri Method.
I am happy to announce that I am SomaticVoicework™ The LoVeri Method Level III Certified! I am excited to bring the new techniques of this body-based method of vocal training to my students! http://www.thevoiceworkshop.com/somatic.html
A Note from Shannon O'Leary...a former Vocal Discoveries Studio student
Hey Peggy, I just wanted to say thanks, you gave me a really solid and healthy technique during the time I studied with you. I am told often that my foundation in singing is really quite good without the tensions a lot of young singers get. You were always so patient with me and helpful and you helped me to not develop some of those unhealthy habits that a lot of singers go to conservatory/college with. So thank you!! Have a good week!
